Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement to sign defender Joane Gadou from RB Salzburg. The transfer fee is set at €20 million.
The 19-year-old will move to the Bundesliga at the end of the current campaign. He only joined the Austrian champions last year from Paris Saint-Germain. Salzburg paid €10 million to secure his signature in 2024.
Gadou did not make a single appearance for PSG’s first team. However, the French club rated him as a top prospect. He has played 33 matches for Salzburg this term. Seven of those games were in the UEFA Europa League.
Dortmund finished second in the German top flight. They will compete in the Champions League next season. This achievement likely helped convince the youngster to choose the club.
The centre-back becomes the latest talented player to move from the Red Bull football network to one of Europe’s biggest leagues.
