French coach Olivier Pantaloni has turned down a job offer from FC Nantes. The manager plans to leave his current club, FC Lorient, when the season finishes.
Several clubs want to hire Pantaloni this summer. He confirmed earlier that he will exit Lorient. His contract expires soon, and the club will not extend it. The coach said he does not feel supported by the club’s leaders.
FC Nantes need a new manager. They recently beat Olympique de Marseille 3-0, but they will probably drop to Ligue 2. Their current coach, Vahid Halilhodzic, has a short contract. He will leave the club soon.
The Kita family, who own Nantes, wanted Pantaloni. However, the coach said no. Experts believe he will join Toulouse FC instead. Now, Nantes must look at other options. They are considering Stéphane Gilli, who used to manage Paris FC.
