AC Milan are prepared to offload Christopher Nkunku during the current transfer window. The Serie A club have informed the 28-year-old and his representative, Pini Zahavi, that they will accept offers of €40 million.
The Italian side signed the Frenchman from Chelsea just one year ago. That deal cost the Rossoneri €37 million plus additional bonuses. However, the player has failed to make a strong impact at San Siro.
Nkunku has found the net only six times across 32 competitive matches. He has also provided three assists. Despite an injury crisis among the club’s strikers, coaches rarely selected him for the starting eleven.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan directors recently held talks with Zahavi. These discussions confirmed the club’s desire to sell the forward after just one season.
The Rossoneri hope to recover their full investment and avoid a loss. While €30 million would cover the original fee, the club believe they can secure €40 million in the current market.
The situation is complicated by Milan’s interest in another client of Zahavi. The Italian giants are reportedly tracking Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski as a possible replacement for Nkunku.
