  • Reports suggest Allegri and Tare could face the sack after just one season

AC Milan chief executive Giorgio Furlani has called an emergency meeting with senior staff following a poor run of results. The Serie A side is facing heavy pressure from supporters after dropping down the league table.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Furlani gathered key figures at the club’s offices on Friday. Sporting director Igli Tare and former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who now serves as a senior advisor for owners RedBird, both attended.

The Rossoneri currently sit in fourth place. They are level on points with Roma after collecting just seven points from their previous eight fixtures.

Supporters are furious with the team’s display. Thousands have signed a petition calling for Furlani to step down. The anger increased following Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to Atalanta at the San Siro.

Furlani is urging staff to unite for the final two matches of the campaign. However, rumours suggest he plans to dismiss both Tare and manager Max Allegri. The pair have only held their current posts for one year.

It remains unclear if these talks will save their jobs or steady the ship before the season ends.
