The curtain has fallen on the 2025/2026 FKF Women’s Premier League season. One name towers above all others in the individual honours. Margaret Kunihira has completed a stunning debut campaign in Kenyan football.

The Uganda international operates on the flank for Kenya Police Bullets. She has officially clinched the Golden Boot award. Her final tally reads 16 goals and 9 assists. This gives her 25 direct goal involvements across the season.

Her deadly accuracy in front of goal and creative vision proved vital. These attributes powered Police Bullets to a successful defence of their league crown. The law enforcers secured back-to-back titles following a 1-0 victory over Trinity Starlets in Gilgil.

Kunihira’s reputation grew with each passing week. She scored two hat-tricks during the opening half of the season. However, her most devastating display came just days ago against Vihiga Queens. The match finished 9-0. The Ugandan netted a brace and supplied four assists in that single afternoon. This performance effectively ended the Golden Boot race. It pushed her clear of rivals Elizabeth Mideva and Martha Amunyolete.

The striker joined Police Bullets as an off-season recruit. She adapted immediately to the demands of Kenyan football. She forms a formidable partnership with fellow Uganda international Zainah Namuleme. Together they have created the most feared attack in the country.

Head coach Rama Vigajo has praised her influence. “She’s been a blessing to the team,” he stated earlier in the year. “Her high press and ability to carry the ball from the halfway line have changed how we play.”

With the domestic title secured, attention now shifts to continental competition. Police Bullets will compete in the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers. Kunihira’s form will prove crucial as the side seeks to elevate Kenya’s status on the African stage. She currently stands as the overwhelming favourite to be named the WPL Player of the Season.
