Angers SCO have secured the services of defender Carlens Arcus for an additional year. The Haitian international has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will keep him at the French club until the summer of 2027.
The 29-year-old full-back arrived at the Ligue 1 side from Vitesse Arnhem last year. His previous deal was set to run out at the end of this campaign. However, the club has moved quickly to tie him down for the foreseeable future.
This announcement comes shortly after the club confirmed that experienced duo Pierrick Capelle and Abdoulaye Bamba will leave the team. While those veterans depart, Arcus remains a crucial part of manager Alexandre Dujeux’s plans.
The Port-au-Prince-born player has established himself as a regular starter since his move to France. He has featured in 27 matches across all competitions this term, starting 25 of those games and providing three assists. His season was interrupted by an adductor injury that ruled him out for several weeks.
The timing of this renewal is significant for the player. He is expected to earn a place in Sébastien Migné’s squad for Haiti’s World Cup qualifying campaign. The Caribbean nation will compete in Group C against heavyweights Brazil, European side Scotland and Morocco.
