Paris Saint-Germain are the champions of France once again. They defeated RC Lens 2-0 on Wednesday night to clinch the Ligue 1 trophy. This marks their 14th league title in the club’s history. It is also their fifth consecutive championship win.

Manager Luis Enrique has maintained a perfect record since joining the club. He has won the league title in all three seasons he has been in charge. However, he believes this latest success is the best of the three. He described it as the “most tasty” victory during his time at the club.

The title was almost certain before the match kicked off. PSG were six points clear at the top of the table. They also had a better goal difference than Lens by 15 goals. Only two games remained in the season.

Despite this, Enrique said the campaign was very difficult. He explained that his players had very little rest last summer. The team also faced many injury problems throughout the year. Lens pushed PSG hard until the second-last week of the season. This made the victory feel more special for the coach.

In Enrique’s first year, PSG finished nine points ahead of AS Monaco. Last season, they were 19 points clear of Olympique de Marseille. This year, the gap to Lens is nine points. Enrique praised Lens for their strong challenge this season.
