Real Madrid have returned to winning form following their El Clasico disappointment. The Spanish giants defeated already-relegated Real Oviedo at the Bernabeu on Thursday evening.

Manager Alvaro Arbeloa kept his promise to rotate his starting eleven. Several players who had spent recent weeks on the sidelines received opportunities. David Alaba, Eduardo Camavinga and Alvaro Carreras all featured from the beginning.

The home supporters displayed their frustration throughout the match. Fans voiced anger over a second consecutive season without silverware. Their disapproval created a tense atmosphere inside the stadium.

The opening goal arrived just before the interval. Ilyas Chaira lost possession cheaply to Carreras. The ball eventually reached Brahim Diaz, who threaded a pass to Gonzalo Garcia. The young forward calmly placed his shot into the far corner.

Arbeloa introduced his key players after the break. Both Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham came off the substitutes’ bench. Their arrival prompted loud booing from sections of the crowd.

Despite the hostile reception, the duo combined effectively for the second goal. Bellingham exchanged passes with Mbappe before striking a low drive into the bottom corner. The midfielder evaded several challenges during the move.

The result moves Real Madrid to within eleven points of league leaders Barcelona. However, the championship has already been secured by their Catalan rivals with matches remaining.

The Madrid club now prepares for their trip to Seville. They face Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan on Sunday. The Andalusian side continues to battle for European qualification and survival in a tight La Liga table.
