Fiorentina will travel to Turin without their key forward Moise Kean for the upcoming Serie A fixture against Juventus. The Italian striker has failed to recover from his long-term ankle problem and will not be part of the squad facing his old employers.
This marks the eighth match in a row that Kean has been forced to miss because of the same fitness trouble. The issue has bothered him throughout the current campaign, keeping him off the pitch for long periods.
The timing is difficult for Juventus, who are chasing a place in the top four. The Turin giants desperately need points to ensure they compete in next season’s Champions League. In contrast, Fiorentina have already confirmed their safety and will stay in the top flight next year.
Coach Raffaele Palladino has further concerns in attack. Albert Gudmundsson is not fully fit and remains doubtful. Roberto Piccoli also carries a knock and may not be ready for the clash.
There is some positive news for the Viola, however. Young talent Riccardo Braschi has been withdrawn from the Primavera youth team to join the senior squad. The teenager made his first start last week in the goalless draw with Genoa. He is now available to play a role against Juventus.
Fiorentina have named a strong group for the trip, including experienced players such as David de Gea, Robin Gosens and Rolando Mandragora. Despite their injury problems up front, the visitors will aim to cause problems for Juventus and damage their European ambitions.
