Tolisso enjoyed the best season of his career in 2025-26. He scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 39 matches. He returned to Lyon in 2022 after five years with Bayern Munich in Germany.

His present contract expires in June 2027. However, the player wants to sign an extension. He told Le Progrès newspaper that talks have already started.

“I have one year left on my contract. We have started talking with the club. I hope we can reach an agreement,” Tolisso said. “I want to stay at OL.”

The midfielder dreams of winning silverware with Lyon. He wants to be the captain who lifts a trophy for the fans. He loves the special bond with the supporters and the strong team spirit at the club.

However, Lyon faces money problems. The club may ask Tolisso to accept a pay cut. The player seems ready to reduce his wages to stay at the club he loves.

Nothing is certain yet. However, Tolisso sees himself finishing his career in Lyon.
