Harambee Stars will face a challenging task in Group D of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Kenyan national team will compete against South Africa, Guinea, and Eritrea for a place at the finals.

The draw took place in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday. Kenya will co-host the final tournament with neighbours Uganda and Tanzania.

Uganda will compete in Group H against Tunisia, Libya, and Botswana. Meanwhile, Tanzania will meet Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau, and Madagascar in Group L.

The qualification campaign will begin on September 21. Twenty-eight teams will secure places at the finals. This total includes the three host nations who receive automatic qualification.

Forty-eight countries will participate in the qualifying stage. They are split into twelve groups of four teams each. The draw used FIFA rankings from April 2026 to seed the teams. The 48 teams included 42 direct entrants and six winners from the preliminary round.
