Paris FC have set their sights on a sensational managerial coup. The French side dream of appointing Jurgen Klopp to the technical area if they secure qualification for the Champions League.

The ambitious Ligue 1 club enjoys strong financial backing from the wealthy Arnault family and energy drink giants Red Bull. The company will increase its stake in the Paris outfit this summer.

Last term, the team earned promotion from the second division. This season, they fought hard to avoid an immediate return to Ligue 2. A late surge under current coach Antoine Kombouaré ensured they finished safely in mid-table.

Now, majority shareholder Antoine Arnault has outlined the next phase of the project. He admits big European nights at the Jean Bouin stadium remain at least 18 months away. The goal is gradual progress rather than instant success.

Arnault has identified Klopp as his dream appointment. The German currently works as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull. He has visited the Paris ground several times this campaign.

Klopp has repeatedly stated he wants time away from management after his Liverpool exit. However, Arnault hopes to change his mind in the future.

“If we reach the Champions League, I would try to convince him,” Arnault told RMC Sport. “It would not happen soon because he does not want a swift return. Maybe in three, four or five years.”

The French businessman praised Klopp’s football genius and charisma. He believes the former Borussia Dortmund coach would be perfect for their long-term vision on the pitch.
