- €5 million transfer fee agreed between clubs
- Four-year contract ready for signature
- Medical examination scheduled for next week
AS Monaco have reached an agreement to sign Edgar Nazinho from Cercle Brugge. The Portuguese left-back will join the Ligue 1 side for €5 million.
The 22-year-old is expected to travel to Monaco next week. He will undergo a medical test before signing a four-year contract.
Monaco need reinforcements in defence. Caio Henrique may leave the club this summer. Kassoum Ouattara remains the only specialist full-back at the moment. Krépin Diatta is also departing.
The deal progressed quickly because both clubs share the same owner. Dmitry Rybolovlev controls Cercle Brugge and AS Monaco. This connection helped Monaco secure the player ahead of other interested teams.
Nazinho has represented Portugal at youth level. He emerged as a priority target for the French club.
Monaco could still qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League. This depends on the result of the Coupe de France final between RC Lens and OGC Nice.
