- Chelsea want the veteran defender to join their youth academy as a coach instead.
- Silva previously wore the Rossoneri shirt between 2009 and 2012 before moving to Paris.
Thiago Silva could make a surprise comeback to Serie A at the age of 42. The Brazilian centre-back is currently without a club following his short spell at FC Porto.
AC Milan have stepped forward with a bold proposal. The Italian giants want the experienced defender to return to the San Siro fourteen years after his departure. The offer covers one season.
The former Chelsea star knows Milan well. He spent three successful years there between 2009 and 2012. The club sold him to Paris Saint-Germain for €42 million after that spell. His career then took him to London, Rio de Janeiro, and back to Europe.
Silva joined Porto in January as a free agent. He played fourteen matches for the Portuguese side this term. Twelve of those appearances came from the starting eleven.
This is not the first time Milan have tried to bring him back. The Rossoneri made a similar approach in January. Now they hope to seal the deal.
However, the veteran faces a different choice. Chelsea have offered him a coaching position at their youth academy. This would allow him to begin his managerial journey at a club where he spent four years. He left Stamford Bridge in 2024 after lifting several trophies.
The defender must now decide whether to continue playing in Milan or start coaching in London.
