Borussia Dortmund are closing in on the signature of Belgian winger Diego Moreira. The Bundesliga side have already agreed personal terms with the player, according to reports from transfer expert Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
However, the German club must still negotiate with RC Strasbourg. The French Ligue 1 outfit value their star at €38 million. They also want an extra €5 million in performance-related bonuses.
If the two clubs agree on this price, Moreira will become Dortmund’s most expensive player ever. The current record stands at €35 million. Dortmund paid this fee to Stade Rennais FC for Ousmane Dembélé back in 2016.
Moreira enjoyed an impressive spell at Strasbourg. He found the net five times and created nine goals for his team-mates across 42 matches last term. These performances have caught the attention of several top European clubs.
The 21-year-old has also earned a call-up to the Belgium national team. He will join their squad for the upcoming World Cup finals. Dortmund hope to complete the deal before the tournament begins.
