The Ligue 1 season has finished, and Olympique de Marseille are now speeding up their search for a new head coach. Habib Beye, who replaced Roberto De Zerbi in February, remains in charge but his position is under serious threat. The former Stade Rennais boss failed to meet his main objectives, missing out on Champions League qualification and falling short of the Coupe de France semi-finals.

According to L’Équipe, the club have approached Bruno Genesio, whose deal at Lille OSC ends this summer. They have also sounded out Adi Hutter, who has been without a club since leaving AS Monaco in October. Both coaches are free agents, making them simple targets.

Christophe Galtier is a more complex option. The former Paris Saint-Germain manager is tied to Neom SC in Saudi Arabia until 2027. However, Marseille have checked the details of his contract with the Middle Eastern side. Galtier was born in the Marseille region and is currently in the area, which gives him a chance to meet club leaders quietly.

Money could stop the deal. Marseille face financial difficulties that may prevent an expensive managerial change. The situation is further complicated by the war in Iran, which has forced the Public Investment Fund to cut sports spending. This could change Galtier’s position in Saudi Arabia.
