Olympique de Marseille are lining up a move for Valencia CF goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski. The Ligue 1 outfit view the North Macedonia star as the ideal replacement for current number one Gerónimo Rulli.
The 32-year-old has enjoyed an impressive run of form at the Mestalla. During the second half of the season, he conceded just 24 goals in 19 outings. He also kept five clean sheets during that period.
Dimitrievski’s contract with the La Liga side is set to expire next June. This situation presents Marseille with a chance to snap him up on a free transfer. However, the Spanish club are pushing hard to keep their man. They have the option to trigger an extension clause that would bind the keeper to the club until 2028. This would require Valencia to hand the player a €500,000 payment.
Marseille chiefs are working with restricted budgets as they plan their summer rebuild. They see the experienced international, who has earned 88 caps for his country, as a smart addition.
