- Stuttgart plan to install Seimen as their first-choice keeper next season
Dennis Seimen could not find the right words to express his joy after helping SC Paderborn reach the Bundesliga. The club secured promotion following a tense play-off victory against VfL Wolfsburg on Monday evening.
The match went to extra time before Paderborn clinched the win. Seimen spoke to Sky Germany shortly after the final whistle. He called the achievement something truly special.
“This night is completely unique,” the goalkeeper said. “I think everyone here will become party animals. I want to go everywhere and celebrate everything.”
Seimen joined Paderborn on loan from VfB Stuttgart at the start of the season. Monday’s clash likely marked his final appearance for the second-tier side. The young stopper has impressed coaches during his spell away from Stuttgart.
Officials at Stuttgart now plan to bring Seimen back as their main goalkeeper. The 21-year-old is expected to claim the number one jersey when the new Bundesliga campaign begins.
