However, Sky Germany reports that Hamburg are desperate to keep the 24-year-old. Club officials have already contacted the Gunners to discuss a full-time transfer. Sources claim the player is willing to remain at the Volksparkstadion if the club commits to building their squad around his talents.
The major obstacle is the transfer fee. Hamburg hold a €20 million purchase option in the loan agreement. The club considers this sum too expensive for their budget. They now plan to bargain for a reduced price with the Premier League side.
Time is also a factor for Arsenal. Vieira has only twelve months remaining on his current deal. This could force the Emirates hierarchy to sell this summer or risk losing him for nothing in 2026.
