Liverpool have opted against re-signing Jarell Quansah during this transfer window. Reports from German outlets Sport BILD and Kicker confirm that the Premier League side will not activate the €60 million buy-back clause for the former academy graduate.

The 23-year-old centre-back will therefore continue his career at Bayer Leverkusen until at least 2027. The clause allowing Liverpool to reclaim their player remains valid for activation in three years at the same price.

Anfield officials had the opportunity to bring the defender back to England for €60 million this summer. However, the club have allowed that window to pass. The fee will not change in 2027, meaning Leverkusen hold a strong negotiating position without urgent pressure to sell.

Quansah has become a regular starter at the BayArena since his move to the Bundesliga. Despite his consistent place in the lineup, his performances have mirrored the team’s struggles for stability this season.

The England youth international has shown flashes of quality but lacks the consistency expected at elite level. Liverpool now plan to monitor his development over the next two campaigns before deciding whether to commit such a significant sum for his signature in 2027.
