Portuguese club FC Porto have chosen not to exercise the purchase clause in Terem Moffi’s loan contract. The 27-year-old Nigeria international will therefore return to French side OGC Nice, reports L’Equipe.
The striker had been absent from duty since November last year. This followed an incident where angry supporters attacked the Nice team bus following a defeat to FC Lorient.
Moffi sought a temporary escape from the club during the winter window. He moved to Porto in January, much like teammate Jeremie Boga who secured a switch to Juventus. Unlike Moffi, Boga is likely to stay in Italy.
The temporary deal included an eight million euro option to buy. Porto have declined this offer after the player scored only twice in fifteen appearances.
The forward now heads back to Nice with twelve months left on his current deal. However, he faces another immediate exit. The Ligue 1 outfit intend to offload the striker to a different club this summer.
