FC Barcelona are close to finalising the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. Club president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the transfer is progressing well.

The Spanish side have outbid Bayern Munich for the 25-year-old attacker. Barcelona have agreed to pay at least €80 million for Gordon. This amount includes various add-ons.

Bayern Munich refused to match this valuation. The Bundesliga champions will now look for other forwards to strengthen their squad for the 2026/27 campaign.
