  • Uli Hoeneß now leads negotiations to keep Konrad Laimer at the Allianz Arena
  • The Austrian midfielder has abandoned demands for a €12-15 million annual salary
  • Current wages stand at €8-9 million per year with the deal expiring next summer
  • A moderate pay increase is now the likely outcome of fresh talks

Bayern Munich’s honorary president Uli Hoeneß has personally stepped into discussions to secure Konrad Laimer’s future at the club. The veteran official is now driving efforts to extend the contract of the versatile Austrian beyond next year.

According to information from Sport1, the player, his agents and club officials have returned to the negotiating table. Hoeneß has reportedly set out clear financial boundaries for the Bavarians during these recent discussions.

Earlier in the process, Laimer allegedly requested an annual salary between €12 million and €15 million. Those demands have now been withdrawn following direct talks with Hoeneß. Instead, the 27-year-old accepts that only a moderate wage increase is realistic.

The defensive midfielder, who can also operate at right-back, currently earns between €8 million and €9 million each year. His existing deal runs out in 12 months, but the club hopes to finalise new terms quickly with sensible financial limits in place.
