Borussia Mönchengladbach have completed the signing of Ukrainian defender Yukhym Konoplia. The 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term deal that keeps him at the Bundesliga outfit until June 2029.

The German club confirmed the move on Friday. Konoplia arrives on a free transfer after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk.

Rouven Schröder, who heads the sporting department at Gladbach, spoke highly of the new recruit. He described Konoplia as a powerful full-back who shows complete commitment on the pitch. Schröder noted that the right-back offers valuable leadership skills. The player has earned these qualities through regular starts for the Ukrainian champions. He has also featured in the Champions League and represents his national side.

Konoplia shared his delight about joining the German top flight. He stated that he is eager to play for the club. He described Borussia as a major team with a proud history and fantastic supporters.
