  • Aziz Yıldırım, a candidate for the Fenerbahçe presidency, is driving the negotiations.

  • The Guinea striker found the net 17 times in the Bundesliga during the previous campaign.

Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claims that Serhou Guirassy has already shaken hands on a deal to leave Borussia Dortmund for Fenerbahçe. The agreement, however, rests on Aziz Yıldırım securing the club’s top job.

Yıldırım is currently campaigning to become president of the Istanbul outfit. If he defeats his rivals at the general meeting, he plans to make the 30-year-old frontman his flagship acquisition. The election is scheduled for 6 and 7 June, with all 44,741 eligible members allowed to cast their ballots regardless of turnout.

The former Stuttgart hitman enjoyed a prolific debut season in the Bundesliga, ranking third in the scoring charts with 17 goals from 33 outings. He also managed one assist during his time on the pitch.

Insiders suggest Guirassy has already started looking into life in Turkey’s largest city. While the transfer is not yet guaranteed, early talks between the player, his current employers, and the Turkish side appear to be moving in the right direction.
