Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director, Ole Book, stated last month that the club intends to retain Felix Nmecha for next season. In an interview with Sport Bild, he explained that keeping the midfielder is a priority. Book praised the 25-year-old, calling him one of the top midfielders in Germany. He added that Nmecha is crucial for their tactics and can compete with the best in Europe.

Despite these comments, the player’s future at Signal Iduna Park remains unclear. According to Sky Germany, although Dortmund hope to keep him after he signed a new deal until 2030 in March, they might accept a big offer. English clubs are keen to sign him.

The report claims that Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Manchester City have all spoken to his agents. They are waiting for a chance to sign him in the next transfer window. If a large bid comes from the Premier League, Nmecha may ask to leave. Sources say he would welcome a move back to England.

The midfielder started his career at Manchester City’s youth academy. He left for VfL Wolfsburg on a free transfer in 2021. Dortmund bought him for around €30 million in 2023. He recently played for Germany in a 4-0 friendly victory against Finland. He is likely to feature in the World Cup alongside Aleksandar Pavlović in midfield.
