Steve Clarke has finalised his squad numbers for Scotland’s upcoming World Cup adventure. The national team boss has made a bold decision regarding his goalkeepers. Nottingham Forest shot-stopper Angus Gunn will wear the prestigious number one shirt. Many supporters had expected Craig Gordon to receive this honour. Instead, the Hearts veteran must settle for number twenty-one.

The defensive allocations see captain Andy Robertson keep his trademark number three. Kieran Tierney takes number six, while Grant Hanley wears five and Aaron Hickey is allocated two.

In midfield, Manchester United’s Scott McTominay gets number four. John McGinn keeps his favourite number seven. There is a late change in the number eight shirt, which goes to Tyler Fletcher. The Manchester United academy player joined the group as a replacement for the injured Billy Gilmour.

The attacking options feature Lyndon Dykes in number nine and Che Adams in ten. Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland will wear number twenty, with Ryan Christie taking eleven.

The complete squad list includes Liam Kelly (12), Jack Hendry (13), Ross Stewart (14), John Souttar (15), Dominic Hyam (16), Ben Gannon-Doak (17), George Hirst (18), Lewis Ferguson (19), Nathan Patterson (22), Kenny McLean (23), Anthony Ralston (24), Findlay Curtis (25) and Scott McKenna (26).

Clarke’s side will test their preparations against Bolivia in a friendly clash this Saturday. Their World Cup journey begins on June fourteenth against Haiti. They will then face Morocco and Brazil in their remaining group stage fixtures.
