1.FC Köln are busy planning their squad for the next campaign. The Bundesliga club have identified two key targets to improve their team.
According to RTL/ntv, the Cologne-based side want to bring in midfielder Umut Tohumcu from TSG Hoffenheim. The 21-year-old is currently under contract until 2028.
However, Tohumcu spent the last term on loan at Holstein Kiel in the 2. Bundesliga. He made 13 league appearances, scoring once and creating three goals for his team-mates.
Several other clubs are also watching the Turkish-German player. His future at Hoffenheim remains uncertain.
Meanwhile, The Express reports that Köln are also interested in Alemannia Aachen forward Mika Schröers. The 24-year-old has impressed in the third tier this season.
Schröers has found the net 21 times and provided 11 assists. He could serve as cover for Ragnar Ache or form a partnership with him in attack.
The striker started his career at Borussia Mönchengladbach’s academy. He joined Arminia Bielefeld in 2024 before moving to Aachen last year.
