- Mittelstädt’s contract with Stuttgart runs until 2028
SSC Napoli are preparing a move for VfB Stuttgart star Maximilian Mittelstädt. The Serie A club need a new left-back and have identified the German as their top target.
Italian sources claim Napoli could sign the defender for €15 million. This price comes from reports by Tuttomercatoweb. However, Stuttgart may ask for more money because top left-backs are hard to find.
Mittelstädt still has four years left on his contract with the Bundesliga side. He played 50 games last season and scored seven goals. He also helped his teammates score six times with his assists.
The Stuttgart defence relies heavily on the 27-year-old. Selling him would weaken their team. For this reason, the club will not accept low offers.
If Mittelstädt moves to Naples, Stuttgart have a plan. They want to sign Flávio Nazinho from Belgian club Cercle Brugge. The Portuguese defender could take over the left-back position.
