Paris Saint-Germain will not sign Aleksey Batrakov this summer. The French champions have ended their interest in the Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder, according to reports from Le Parisien.
The 20-year-old has been in excellent form for the Russian club. He has found the net 12 times and set up 12 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions this season. Batrakov has started 33 of those matches under manager Mikhail Galaktionov.
Luis Campos, the sporting director at PSG, personally watched Batrakov on multiple occasions. However, the Portuguese official was not fully convinced by the young attacker. He has now decided to look at different players to strengthen Luis Enrique’s squad.
This news comes as a big disappointment for Batrakov’s representative. Just weeks ago, the agent was very confident about the deal. He told reporters that his client had a 95 percent chance of joining the Paris club before the new season starts.
The Russia under-21 international will now remain at Lokomotiv Moscow for the foreseeable future. PSG will continue their search for new talent elsewhere in Europe.
