Gor Mahia have secured a major financial boost ahead of their return to continental football. The record 22-time champions have signed an improved three-year sponsorship agreement with Kansai Plascon Kenya worth Ksh 30 million.
The Japanese paint manufacturer announced the deal on Friday in Nairobi. The new contract replaces a previous one-year agreement signed in December 2025. It comes after K’Ogalo clinched the 2025-26 Football Kenya Federation Premier League title with two matches remaining. The club finished the season with 69 points, five clear of bitter rivals AFC Leopards.
Enami Kota, Managing Director of Kansai Plascon Kenya, praised the team’s efforts. He presented an immediate Ksh 1 million reward for winning the championship. Kota also pledged an additional Ksh 1.5 million to support the club’s preparations for the CAF Champions League.
“As Gor Mahia head to continental competition, we understand the burden,” Kota stated. “Plascon operates in 17 African countries. We know the high costs involved. This support will help meet those challenges.”
The company also unveiled a special fundraising initiative. A unique K’Ogalo edition of their Wall Cover product will launch in July and run for four months. A portion of the sales revenue will go directly to Gor Mahia’s Champions League fund.
Club Patron Eliud Owalo welcomed the partnership. He called it a powerful example of corporate investment in local sport. He urged other businesses to support community clubs.
Chairman Ambrose Rachier expressed gratitude for the long-term commitment. He noted that sustainable success requires reliable partners. The club hopes to replicate their 1987 African Cup Winners’ Cup victory during their upcoming continental campaign.
