Kenan Yildiz has resumed training at Juventus, offering manager Luciano Spalletti a significant lift as the club awaits medical results on Jeff Ekhator following a friendly match against Basel.
The Turkey international reported to the J Medical facility for routine assessments before stepping onto the pitch at the Continassa complex, according to TuttoMercatoWeb. Yildiz had been managing a knee issue in recent weeks, and the medical staff have designed a specific programme to govern his return carefully and prevent any relapse. The attacking midfielder, who occupies the number 10 role, is viewed as integral to Spalletti’s plans for the campaign.
Defender Zeki Celik has also progressed in his rehabilitation, transitioning from individual sessions to participating with the main group. His return adds valuable defensive cover as preparations for the new season gather pace.
Ekhator injury concern
The optimism surrounding Yildiz and Celik was offset by a setback for Ekhator during Saturday’s encounter with Basel. The forward withdrew with a thigh complaint and is scheduled for scans to establish the severity. The club remain hopeful the damage is not substantial, though the findings will determine his availability for forthcoming fixtures.
Forward recruitment accelerates
The Basel fixture exposed Juventus’ shortage of striking options. The hierarchy are prioritising the acquisition of two centre-forwards to provide the attacking focal point Spalletti considers essential.
Randal Kolo Muani and Mateo Pellegrino have emerged as the primary objectives. Sporting director Giovanni Carnevali and technical coordinator Frederic Massara are working to hasten negotiations, with the manager keen to integrate new attackers swiftly to finalise a squad capable of executing his tactical vision.
