Roma have opened discussions with Antonio Nusa’s representatives as they search for attacking reinforcements following Crysencio Summerville’s decision to join Al-Hilal instead of the Serie A side.
The Giallorossi had appeared close to securing Summerville’s signature after reaching agreements with both the player and West Ham. However, Al-Hilal intervened with a substantial €80 million offer to the English club and proposed wages of €15 million per season for the Dutch winger, prompting him to opt for the Saudi Pro League move under manager Simone Inzaghi.
The collapse of the Summerville deal has forced Roma to accelerate their search for wide attacking options, with Nusa now emerging as the primary target.
Leipzig set steep price for Nusa
According to Corriere dello Sport and Gazzetta dello Sport, RB Leipzig are willing to entertain offers for the 19-year-old Norway international, but have set their valuation between €55 million and €60 million.
Giallorossi director Tony D’Amico has initiated contact with Nusa’s entourage as the club attempts to negotiate a reduction in the German side’s demands. The fee would represent a significant investment for the capital club, who must weigh the cost against their remaining budget for the transfer window.
The Bundesliga outfit’s openness to selling suggests a deal is possible, though Roma will need to bridge the gap between their valuation and Leipzig’s asking price to secure the teenager’s services.
Alternative targets emerge
Should negotiations for Nusa prove problematic, Roma are reportedly monitoring other options. Portugal winger Diego Moreira and Nusa’s compatriot Andreas Schjelderup remain on the club’s shortlist as potential attacking additions.
The club’s urgency to strengthen the forward line reflects their ambitions for the upcoming campaign, though they face competition from wealthy Saudi clubs who have demonstrated their ability to outbid European teams for top talent.
