Milan’s determination to sign Martin follows defensive concerns highlighted during their pre-season preparations. In their opening friendly of the summer, the Rossoneri played out a 2-2 draw with Celtic, falling two goals behind before rallying after the interval.
That performance exposed vulnerabilities at the back, making it clear that reinforcements were necessary. Strengthening the defence has become a priority for the Italian club, with Martin emerging as a primary target to solve these issues.
