Liverpool have contacted the representatives of Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao as they explore options to strengthen their attack following Mohamed Salah’s departure as a free agent. The Premier League side are assessing the feasibility of a deal for the Portuguese wide man after reaching out to his entourage.
The approach positions Conceicao as a more attainable target than Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, who carries a valuation of approximately €170m. Juventus have indicated they would demand a minimum of €50m to consider selling the winger, a figure that represents less than one-third of Barcola’s price tag but still requires significant investment.
Juventus’s Firm Stance
The Serie A club are under no pressure to negotiate having only recently completed Conceicao’s permanent acquisition from FC Porto. Juventus paid €9.5m for the initial loan arrangement before committing a further €32m to secure the player outright earlier this summer, bringing their total expenditure to €41.5m.
This recent financial outlay strengthens Juventus’s position in any potential negotiations, despite the possibility of recording an immediate profit on the €50m valuation. The club completed the permanent transfer after Conceicao contributed six goals and five assists across 45 competitive appearances during his debut campaign in Turin.
Strategic Shift for Liverpool
Liverpool’s search for reinforcements has intensified following Salah’s exit, leaving a substantial void in their forward line. While Barcola remains the primary target for the Anfield recruitment team, the €120m disparity in valuation makes Conceicao an increasingly practical prospect.
However, Juventus’s willingness to hold firm at €50m suggests any successful bid must meet their threshold without substantial discount, despite the significant saving compared to the PSG alternative.
