Bayern Munich chief Jan-Christian Dreesen has emphatically dismissed speculation linking Michael Olise with a move to Real Madrid, confirming the player will remain at the Bundesliga club for the foreseeable future.
Speaking at a Presse Club München event, Dreesen addressed persistent rumours connecting Olise to the Spanish giants, referred to as the ‘Galacticos’. He described the reports as fake news and expressed astonishment at how quickly they had spread among supporters and media outlets.
The Bayern chief’s intervention comes amid intense transfer speculation surrounding top European talent, with Madrid frequently linked with high-profile acquisitions.
Chief calls out ‘astonishing’ rumours
Dreesen revealed he has been repeatedly questioned about Olise’s future by friends and associates since the stories emerged. “It’s astonishing what [rumours] can end up being spread when you know yourself what the truth actually is,” he stated.
The Bayern chief added: “I’ve honestly lost count of how many times I’ve been asked by friends [regarding Olise’s future].”
Reports had suggested Real Madrid were preparing a substantial offer for Olise, with figures around €200million mentioned in speculation. However, Dreesen indicated no such approach has materialised or been considered by the German champions.
Bayern issue hands-off warning
Dreesen made clear that Bayern have no intention of entertaining offers for the player. He noted that despite constant enquiries from his personal circle, nobody had suggested the club should cash in on Olise even at an inflated price.
“But not a single person has said, ‘If someone offers €200million, you have to sell him,'” Dreesen concluded with a smile.
