RB Leipzig have reportedly entered negotiations with RC Strasbourg Alsace over a potential double deal for Samir El Mourabet and Diego Moreira. According to Foot Mercato, talks are underway between the Bundesliga side and the French club, with both players expressing strong interest in joining the German outfit.

El Mourabet, aged 20, and Moreira, 22, have established themselves as important figures in a youthful Strasbourg squad. The French club has built a reputation for developing young talent, and both players remain under long-term contracts, with El Mourabet tied until 2030 and Moreira until 2029.

Leipzig’s appeal stems from their recent domestic success and European ambitions. The club finished third in the Bundesliga last season, securing qualification for the upcoming Champions League campaign. This continental platform appears to have attracted the Strasbourg duo, who are understood to be enthusiastic about the prospect of competing at that level.

However, prising the pair away from La Meinau will prove difficult. Strasbourg have already seen significant departures this summer, with Valentín Barco, 22, and Emmanuel Emegha, 23, both leaving the club. Having lost these key prospects, the Alsace outfit are reluctant to sanction further exits from their young core.

With both El Mourabet and Moreira contracted for several more years, Leipzig face a complex negotiation. The German club will need to present compelling arguments and likely a substantial financial package to convince Strasbourg’s management to part with two more established talents.

The discussions remain at a preliminary stage, with no deal yet agreed between the parties. Leipzig continue to assess the feasibility of the transfers as they shape their squad for the new campaign.
