LOSC Lille manager Davide Ancelotti has removed Matias Fernandez-Pardo from the first-team squad until the transfer window closes. The 21-year-old attacker will train separately after making clear his desire to leave the French club before the 1st September deadline.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Ancelotti confirmed the decision: “I have decided, in consultation with the club, that he will no longer train with the squad until the end of the transfer window.” The Italian explained that his immediate priority lies with committed players, stating he is focusing on “the players who are available for tomorrow’s match and who are training with us.”
The Brussels-born forward will consequently miss Friday’s Ligue 1 fixture against Paris Saint-Germain at the Décathlon Arena. His exclusion from the squad deprives Lille of an attacking option for the home encounter against the reigning champions.
Valuation Barrier Remains
Newcastle United and Atlético Madrid have both reportedly registered interest in securing Fernandez-Pardo’s signature. However, any potential deal faces a significant financial obstacle.
Lille reportedly values the Belgian at approximately €70 million, a substantial figure reflecting his contract status until 2029. This asking price is likely to dampen the enthusiasm of interested parties, who must weigh the cost against the limited time remaining to complete negotiations.
With the transfer window shutting on 1st September, Fernandez-Pardo faces a race against time to secure his desired move.
