Former Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is set to make a decision on his next club within the coming week. The Frenchman, currently a free agent, has been linked with several clubs across Europe, though a return to Ligue 1 has been ruled out.

Ligue 1 Move Ruled Out

Despite being offered to multiple clubs in France over the summer, Martial will not be making a move to Ligue 1. AJ Auxerre, now managed by Will Still, was the only French club to submit a formal offer for the 30-year-old. However, no agreement was reached between the parties.

Additionally, FC Lorient had the opportunity to sign Martial but ultimately turned down the chance. This confirms that despite interest and approaches, Martial’s immediate future does not lie in the French top flight.

International Options Emerge

Attention has now shifted to other European leagues, with reports indicating active discussions with clubs in Spain and Russia. Spanish side Malaga is understood to be in talks with Martial, alongside another unnamed club from Spain.

Further east, two prominent Russian clubs, CSKA Moscow and Krasnodar, are also reportedly in contact with the forward. Both clubs are actively pursuing a deal, suggesting a potential move to the Russian Premier League could be on the cards for the former France international.

Martial’s Recent Career

Martial’s last professional stint was with CF Monterrey in Mexico. After departing Manchester United, where he spent nine years, his time in Liga MX provided a different experience before becoming a free agent. His next move will mark a new chapter in a career that has seen him play at the highest levels of European football.

With a decision anticipated during the upcoming international break, the football world awaits to see where Anthony Martial will continue his career.
