Moore’s Impactful Debut
Moore’s goal came early in the second half, doubling England’s advantage with a one-touch finish. Jesse Derry, currently on loan at Sporting CP from Chelsea, had opened the scoring in the first half. After an own-goal by Airidas Golambeckis briefly halved Italy’s deficit, substitute Shea Lacey sealed the win for England in the 82nd minute.
The captaincy on his debut underscores Moore’s growing stature within the England youth setup. His performance against Italy adds to an already impressive international record, having now scored 26 goals in 46 appearances across various England youth national teams, starting from the U15 level.

Moore’s strong international showing follows a period of significant development at club level. The 19-year-old recently completed a loan move to a Bundesliga club from Tottenham Hotspur.
