Real Madrid Castilla secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Atlético Madrileño in a thrilling reserve-team derby, with Yáñez scoring the decisive goal in the 71st minute. The five-goal encounter, played at the Alfredo Di Stéfano, saw both sides battle intensely in a contest between two of Madrid’s prominent academies.

Castilla took an early lead in the ninth minute when Carvajal showcased individual skill, navigating past four defenders before finishing with his left foot. However, Atlético Madrileño found an equaliser just before half-time through A. Yaakobishvili, whose long-range effort deflected off Mario Rivas and wrong-footed goalkeeper Mestre.

The second half continued with high drama. Diego Aguado restored Castilla’s lead from the penalty spot in the 61st minute after being fouled in the area by I. Kamate. Atlético Madrileño quickly responded, earning a penalty of their own. While D. García’s attempt was saved by Mestre, Koke Mota was alert to convert the rebound in the 66th minute, levelling the score at 2-2.

Yáñez then sealed the win for Castilla five minutes later, finding the net with a precise left-footed finish from an angle, giving his side a crucial advantage in the tense fixture.

The match remained fraught with tension until the final whistle. Castilla thought they had added a fourth goal in the seventh minute of stoppage time, but Alexis Ciria’s effort was disallowed for offside. Atlético Madrileño also came agonisingly close to snatching a draw, with Álvaro Vega’s header striking the crossbar in the dying moments. The narrow margin of victory underscored the closely contested nature of this academy derby.
