Bayern Munich legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has expressed strong confidence that star forwards Harry Kane and Michael Olise are set to extend their contracts with the Bavarian club. Rummenigge, a former Ballon d’Or winner himself, also believes Kane holds a significant advantage in the race for this year’s prestigious individual award.

Contract Confidence for Key Forwards

Speaking to Ran Sport, Rummenigge indicated that both Kane and Olise have long-term intentions to remain at Bayern. “Both of them intend to stay at Bayern for a long time,” Rummenigge stated, adding, “I hope, and I’m also very confident, that Harry will extend his contract soon.”

This declaration from a prominent figure within the club suggests stability for two of Bayern’s most impactful players. Kane, who joined Bayern in 2023, and Olise, who arrived more recently, have quickly become central to the team’s ambitions.

Kane Backed for Ballon d’Or

Beyond contract matters, Rummenigge shared his hopes for Harry Kane to win the Ballon d’Or, an award Rummenigge himself last won as a Bayern player. “I was the last Bayern player to win the award, so I would like to see another Bayern player win it now,” he remarked.

Rummenigge believes Kane “has the edge” for the award, citing the Englishman’s impressive goal tally and the trophies he has accumulated. Both Kane and Olise are considered among the leading contenders for the Ballon d’Or, highlighting their world-class status and importance to FC Bayern.

Rummenigge emphasised the club’s fortune in having such high-calibre players. “They are world-class players, and world class players don’t grow on trees – they have been such important figures for us for some time now,” he concluded.
