Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini has dismissed suggestions of a January move for Real Madrid striker Endrick, stating his lack of interest in the upcoming transfer window. Gasperini’s comments came during his pre-match press conference ahead of Roma’s Champions League encounter with Real Madrid.
The Giallorossi are set to host the Spanish giants at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday in the second round of the Champions League league phase. During the build-up to the high-profile match, Gasperini was asked about the possibility of discussing Endrick with Real Madrid personnel, given the Brazilian forward has been linked with a loan switch to Roma.
However, the Italian tactician made it clear that his focus remains solely on the current fixtures. “I’m not interested in the January window,” Gasperini stated, emphasising the importance of the upcoming stretch of games, particularly the long-awaited clash against Real Madrid.
Endrick’s Future and Loan Speculation
Endrick, a 20-year-old forward, has seen limited action for Real Madrid this season, featuring for only four minutes. This lack of playing time has fuelled reports of a potential loan departure in January to gain more experience.
Beyond the links to Roma, Endrick has also been mentioned as a target for AC Milan for a possible January loan. Real Madrid are reportedly open to letting the young striker leave temporarily but are only considering loan deals, not a permanent transfer.
The Brazilian previously spent the latter half of the 2025-26 season on loan at French club Lyon. During that spell, he made 16 appearances across all competitions, contributing five goals and seven assists, showcasing his potential away from the Bernabéu.
For now, Gasperini’s remarks suggest that Roma’s immediate priority is their Champions League campaign and domestic fixtures, rather than delving into transfer market activities. The focus remains on the pitch as they prepare to face the most successful team in Champions League history.
