Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has lauded midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery, describing him as an ‘undisputed first-team regular’ and a key player for the French champions. The praise comes after Zaïre-Emery delivered a top-class performance against Manchester City, further cementing his importance in the squad.

Speaking ahead of PSG’s trip to Strasbourg, Luis Enrique was clear about the young Frenchman’s standing. “He’s an undisputed first-team regular, a key player,” the Catalan manager stated. He added that his challenge lies in selecting only eleven players for each match, implying that Zaïre-Emery’s consistent inclusion is a testament to his quality.

Since Luis Enrique took charge of the Parisian side in July 2023, Zaïre-Emery has been a constant presence, making 161 appearances for the club. Of these, 124 have been as a starter, highlighting his consistent role in the team’s midfield.

His reliability has seen him establish himself as one of PSG’s most crucial assets, despite his relatively young age. This consistent form has made him a preferred choice in the midfield, often starting in significant fixtures.

The manager’s high regard for Zaïre-Emery is particularly notable given a past decision. Luis Enrique had previously apologised for not including the midfielder in the starting line-up for the Champions League final against Arsenal. This earlier incident underscores the manager’s recognition of Zaïre-Emery’s value and his subsequent establishment as a non-negotiable starter.

Zaïre-Emery’s ability to deliver top-class performances in crucial matches, such as the recent encounter with Manchester City, reinforces why Luis Enrique views him as indispensable to PSG’s ambitions.
