Strasbourg Prepares for Auxerre Challenge
RC Strasbourg Alsace is gearing up for a crucial Ligue 1 encounter against AJ Auxerre, with the latest team news suggesting significant changes to the starting eleven. The fixture is particularly important for coach Hugo Oliveira, who is reportedly under increasing pressure to deliver a positive result.
Martial Godo is anticipated to start for Strasbourg, providing a boost to the team as they look to return to full strength. Godo is expected to feature on the left wing. Joining him in a potentially new-look attack, USMNT international Gio Reyna could be handed a starting role in the No.10 position, offering creative impetus from midfield.
Predicted Lineup and Key Absences
Up front, Conrad Harder might get the nod to lead the line, potentially starting ahead of Jacobo Ortega. The full predicted lineup for Strasbourg against Auxerre is as follows:
- Goalkeeper: Filip Jorgensen
- Defenders: Oso, Ismael Doukouré, Jeyland Mitchell, Genesis Antwi
- Midfielders: Pape Demba Diop, Samir El-Mourabet
- Attacking Midfielders: Martial Godo, Gio Reyna, Gessime Yassine
- Forward: Conrad Harder
Despite the expected returns, Strasbourg will still have to contend with some key absences due to injury. Joaquín Panichelli and Fabio Baldé are both unavailable for the match, further testing the squad’s depth. Samuel Amo Ameyaw and Sébastien Nanasi are also likely to begin the game from the bench.
This fixture against Auxerre presents a significant opportunity for Strasbourg to ease the pressure on their coach and climb the Ligue 1 standings, with the anticipated lineup changes aimed at securing a much-needed victory.
