Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach have finalised a deal to bring Daniel Batz to the club. The experienced goalkeeper will join the Rhineland side from 1. FSV Mainz 05 when the summer transfer window opens.
The 35-year-old shot-stopper has already completed his medical tests with Gladbach. He will sign a new contract that runs until 2028. The agreement includes an option to extend for one more year.
Batz arrives as a free agent, meaning Gladbach will not pay a transfer fee. This season, he has played 20 matches in the German top flight. He kept three clean sheets during this period. He stepped up for Mainz after first-choice keeper Robin Zentner suffered an injury.
