Real Madrid manager Álvaro Arbeloa has publicly demanded greater dedication from his squad. He made these comments following reports of Kylian Mbappé’s recent travels while injured.

The France captain returned to Spain last Sunday evening. He travelled on a private jet with his girlfriend, actress Ester Expósito. Photographers captured their arrival at the exact moment Real Madrid kicked off against Espanyol at the Bernabéu.

This behaviour has angered club president Florentino Pérez. However, Arbeloa told Marca that medical staff, not coaches, control injured players’ schedules.

“Our doctors at Valdebebas oversee all treatment plans,” Arbeloa stated. “They decide when players must report for checks. Outside those times, players make their own choices. I cannot control their private lives.”

Despite this, the coach delivered a powerful speech about commitment. Journalists asked him five questions about Mbappé’s dedication. They also questioned him about Vinícius Júnior. The media constantly compare the two attackers.

“I never compare my players,” Arbeloa said. “We need everybody to win. It hurts me when data shows opponents run more than us. This happens when we have the ball and when we defend. Every player must commit to pressing, attacking, and defending.”

Arbeloa then issued a stark warning about the club’s values. He spoke about the difference between looking good and working hard.

“Talent alone is not enough,” he declared. “I want players who understand Real Madrid’s values. History shows we did not build this club with men wearing tuxedos. We built it with warriors who finish matches covered in sweat, mud, and dirt. When you mix talent with sacrifice, you become the best team in the world.”

Spanish newspapers believe these words target Mbappé directly. The 26-year-old joined the club to lead their Champions League campaigns. However, radio station Cadena Cope reports growing doubts about his leadership qualities within the dressing room.
