Athletic Club has officially named Edin Terzić as their new manager. The Basque club confirmed that the former Borussia Dortmund boss will take charge ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The 43-year-old German has put pen to paper on a long-term deal. His contract will keep him at the San Mamés until the summer of 2028.
Terzić steps into the role following the departure of Ernesto Valverde. The veteran Spanish tactician will exit his position when the current term concludes.
This marks the German’s return to the dugout after a brief break. He left Borussia Dortmund at the end of the 2023/24 season following two separate spells with the Bundesliga giants.
During his tenure in the Black and Yellow, Terzić lifted the DFB-Pokal in 2021. He also pushed Bayern Munich close for the Bundesliga crown in 2023. Last season, he guided the Westfalenstadion outfit to the Champions League final in London, where they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Real Madrid.
