Crystal Palace have identified RC Lens manager Pierre Sage as a potential candidate to take charge at Selhurst Park. The Premier League side are preparing for life after Oliver Glasner, who has confirmed he will leave the club when the season ends.

The Austrian has enjoyed a memorable spell with the Eagles. He lifted the FA Cup last year and has guided the team to this season’s UEFA Europa Conference League final. Despite this success, Glasner will depart this summer.

Sage has caught the attention of Palace officials after a remarkable first campaign at Lens. He joined the French club last summer and has transformed their fortunes. The team, known as Les Sang et Or, remain in contention for the Ligue 1 title. They trail leaders Paris Saint-Germain by only six points with three matches remaining. The two clubs will face each other before the season finishes.

According to the BBC, Sage features on a shortlist drawn up by the South London club. However, he faces strong competition. Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola tops the list of targets. Other names in the frame include former Everton manager Sean Dyche, Ipswich Town coach Kieran McKenna, Brentford’s Thomas Frank, and Coventry City manager Frank Lampard.
