OGC Nice are facing a tense final weekend of the Ligue 1 campaign. The French side must secure their top-flight status before they can focus on their upcoming Coupe de France final clash with RC Lens.
With just one match remaining, Nice do not control their own destiny. They must finish above AJ Auxerre on the last day to avoid a relegation play-off. Dropping into the play-off spot would cast a shadow over their cup final preparations, just as it did for Stade de Reims last year.
The Riviera club are considering a change in the dugout regardless of their final league position. According to Nice-Matin, Bruno Genesio has emerged as a strong contender to take charge.
The Lille OSC manager appears set to depart his current club when his contract expires at the end of the season. He recently confirmed that there has been no progress on a new deal. Olympique de Marseille are also monitoring his situation closely.
However, Nice can only realistically pursue Genesio if they confirm their place in Ligue 1 for next term. Relegation would likely end their hopes of landing the experienced coach.
